SFL Holds Graduate Education Work Conference

To thoroughly implement The Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics Action Plan for Enhancing Graduate Education Quality(2025-2030) and the spirit of the universitys graduate education conference, the School of Foreign Languages held a graduate education work meeting on the afternoon of May 28 to further improve the quality of postgraduate training. Attendees included Dean Zhang Xifeng, Party Committee Secretary Lu Juebin, other leadership members, all masters supervisors, faculty representatives, and staff involved in postgraduate training and employment. The meeting was chaired by Vice Dean Du Jingping.

At the opening session, Du Jingping led participants in a comprehensive study of The Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics Action Plan for Enhancing Graduate Education Quality (2025-2030). He then provided detailed interpretations of two key documents: The Basic Requirements for Master’s Theses in Translation Studies (Trial Version) issued in 2024 by the National Committee for Translation Graduate Education, and The Core Curriculum Guidelines for Professional Degree Postgraduates compiled in 2020 by the National Committee for Professional Degree Graduate Education.

During the discussion segment, attendees engaged in open discussion on postgraduate training programs and thesis writing standards. Professor Li Chunchang, head of the postgraduate supervisor group, and other faculty members offered constructive suggestions for optimizing curriculum design and standardizing thesis requirements. It was resolved that, starting with the 2024 graduate cohort, curriculum planning and thesis supervision will strictly follow the latest guidelines from the National Committee for Translation Graduate Education.

Secretary Lu Juebin outlined the current progress in graduate employment and clarified objectives for the next phase. He emphasized that supervisors, as the primary responsible persons for postgraduate training and career development, must fulfill their duties by providing timely academic guidance, rigorous thesis review, and active support for students’ employment or further education.

Dean Zhang Xifeng, honored as one of the university’s 2024 Top Ten Outstanding Graduate Supervisors, shared insights on academic planning, thesis supervision, research group management, and team building. In her closing remarks, she affirmed the meetings achievements and stressed the importance of collaborative efforts across the school to strengthen key processes including admissions, training, and career support for postgraduate students.
