Mental Health Lecture Held for SFL Freshmen of 2023

On the morning of September 27, a mental health lecture was held in the School of Foreign Languages (SFL). The lecture attended by all the freshmen of 2023, was delivered by Counselor Sun Wenna, on the topic of college students' mental health and adaptation.

Before the lecture, Ms. Sun played a psychological game with the students to stimulate their interests in the lecture and enliven the atmosphere. Then four aspects were presented to the freshmen by Ms. Sun to cultivate a better understanding of campus life: What is college, Mental health of college freshmen, Mental adaptation of freshmen and Psychological Adaptation for Freshmen. In addition, Ms. Sun provided guidance for freshmen to adapt to the campus life with abundant cases. During the interaction with students, she managed to learn their psychological states and discussed with them feasible ways to adjust to college life. Meanwhile, the freshmen were encouraged to communicate with others and seek help when in trouble.

During the lecture, the freshmen made active responses to Ms. Sun and reflected on mental health knowledge. They also discussed issues related to mental health education with Ms. Sun after the lecture.

The SFL has been paying great attention to students’ mental health education as well as their psychological states. It strives to guarantee their psychological health through active communication with students and their parents. With all the efforts, the SFL hopes that every student will embrace a healthier life in college.
