Achievements by JUFE Students in “FLTRPC” National English SpeechContest and Provincial Writing Inte


Jointly organized by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, FLT Advisory Board and ELT Advisory Board Branch under the Ministry Education, the 2014 FLTRPC” National English Speech Contest and the Provincial Writing Intermediary Contest were launched on 1st, Nov. In JiangxiAgricultureUniversity.According to the rules, only three speech contestants and three writing ones from each competing higher institution are allowed to take part in the provincial intermediary contest on behalf of their university.

During the contest, contestants from our university compete with 138 speech talents coming from over forty higher institutions and 106 writing talents from more than thirty institutions.They have fully displayed the comprehensive English abilities and excellent mental outlook with beautiful language, rich knowledge, superb speech skills and speculative writing skills, thus earning themselves an unanimous approval from the judges and audiences.In the speech contest, Yan Yunwen, an international finance student from International School and Mei Zhou, an international trade student from International Trade School have got the third prize while in the writing contest, Xu Yun, an English student from ForeignLanguageSchool and Liu Min, an ACCA student from Accounting School the first prize. In addition, Pan Xi, a CPA student from AccountingSchool has got the third prize.

In order to do a good recruitment job for intermediary contestants, the Foreign Language School Contest Center has successfully organized the preliminary work within the university extensively for the two contests and arranged several high quality teachers to conduct intensive training and individual coaching for those 6 contestants after the preliminary match in accordance with the principle of Meticulous Recruitment, Effective Instruction. Thus laying a solid foundation for excellent achievements in the Provincial Intermediary Match.

As a higher institution of national college English teaching reform model point under the ministry of education, Foreign Language School is striving to construct college English teaching reform platform with four characteristics, i.e., to establish a quantifiable system platform for teaching monitoring and evaluation; to set up a effective college English study network platform; to form a rich English extracurricular activity platform and a scientific research platform for college English teaching.Moreover, they plan to have a breakthrough in materialized accomplishments in each platform construction so as to realize the goal of cultivating the high quality talents from the enrollment quality.
