On September 23rd, the School of Foreign Studies held the thesis proposal report meeting for the National Social Science Project. More than thirty professors, teachers, and graduate students have attended the meeting, including Prof. ZhangYan, the doctoral supervisor from the School of Foreign Languages and Literature of Beijing Normal University, Prof. Ye Weihua, the Dean of School of Foreign Languages of JUFE, Zeng Jianping,Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Studies of JUFE, and Xie Haichang, Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Languages of JUFE. Prof. Zeng Jianping hosted the meeting. At the report meeting, Prof. Xie Haichang presented his project Research on The Social Cultural Criticism of The Lake Poets from multi-dimensions, including the reason behind the choice of the title, the body of the research, methodologies and the ideology, the originality, probable results, and the research foundation. All the attended experts fully acknowledged the research's significance and its academic value, at the same time provided valuable suggestions. For instance, a researcher should stay with the text-centered analysis and take into consideration of social, political, economic, cultural and religious background in England, and even that of the whole Europe. This report rested on the foundation of the accomplishment of the approved project, and it also encourages other members of the faculty to apply for the national project.
