I am Lecturer in English in theSchool of Foreign Languages, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE).Before arriving at JUFE, I was studying at Renmin University of China (RUC) in Comparative Literature (Sept., 2011- Jan., 2015), and doing my research at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Institute of Sino-Christian Studies in Hong Kong (Jan.-May., 2013), and then I got an offer to travel to England as an academic visitor at University of Birmingham (Sept., 2013-Mar., 2014).

I had received my Ph.D. from RUC with a dissertation on James Legge’s Christian interpretation of Confucianism in his translation of Tao Teh King道德经. Following my graduation I started working as University lecturer and focused my research on the 'scriptural reasoning' with a religious cross-reading, cross-interpreting, and cross-commenting between Christian Scriptures and Chinese Classics, chiefly the English translations and commentaries of Chinese Classics by British and American missionaries in China in the 19th and 20th centuries, with a particular emphasis on translating practices, reading practices, research practices, and the organization of knowledge.

Now I also pursue such questions on a larger scale in the history of East Asian Theology. What I am doing is part of an important research project, "Term Question Debates on Biblical Chinese Translations Since the Nineteenth Century and Influences on the Development of East Asian Theology in the Twentieth Century " which concerns Chinese, Japanese, and Korean Christian Literatures, and Asian British Theologies, Asian American Theologies, All my work aims to address the significance of the key theological terms in which ideas were embodied and encountered in the 19th and 20th centuries, uncovering relations between aspects of literary form, such as aspects of material form manifested in manuscripts and compositional practices, and intellectual and institutional history.

Some of my research projects such as "Correlating Chinese and Western Cultures in James Legge’s English Translations and Commentaries of Chinese Classics" and “James Legge’s Theories of Translation” have been awarded a sponsorship by the Provincial Social Sciences Fund of Jiangxi Province, and these projects concern history of Chinese writing; Chinese manuscripts and epigraphy; Classical and literary Chinese language and philology; the cultural history, religion and thought of pre-imperial and early imperial China; text and manuscript studies (Warring States, Qin, and Han periods), which are definitely directly within my area of expertise.
